INFORMATION FOR FOREIGN GUESTS 

Dear Land Rover colleagues

 

Land Rover Klub of Slovenia is organizing its traditional gathering of Land Rovers in Slovenia and for the first time also from our neighbourhood.  Last two ťSlovene BillingsŤ attracted more than 80 Land Rovers to the motocross polygon in Rakek where we all enjoyed a nice greenlaning attractive course driving and socializing with Land Rover fellows and their families.

 

Members of your club are warmly invited to Ljubljana on may 17th 2003 where the event starts ar nine oclock in the morning with convoy greenlaning to the Rakek course.

 

Members of Klub Land Rover Slovenija expect your members to join the event with their families (Land Rovers and others), discover beautiful Slovenian tracks and greenlanes and feel our hospitalit

 PROGRAMME OF ACTIVITIES ON 1st INTERNATIONAL LAND ROVER ENTHUSIAST GATHERING IN SLOVENIA ON MAY 17th 2003

-    8.00-9.00: registration of cars (free of charge) at the Land Rover Shop, Flajšmanova 3 (see the map), Ljubljana

-  8.30-9.30: start of the convoys through Barje-Ig- Krvava Peč -Slivnica to the Rakek motocross polygon (see the map) –approx. 2.5 hours of greenlaning

- 11.30-13.00: free ride on a closed and supervised track

- 13.00-15.00: EASY fun trial for Grand Prix Rakek 2003 in two categories: TEAM (min.2 persons in a car) and LADIES

-  15.00–18.00: individual free ride

 

There will be a lot of fun things for kids and adults ;

-  English picnic area / bring along the blankets, picnic baskets, …

-  Flea market of used and spare equipment&parts Land Rover / bring along your stuff and trade it for …

-  Kids area with mountainbiking, remote controled car races, drawing and colouring …

-  Food & drink by camp fire 

-  Trade stand of club's gear and original Land Rover Gear

-  Concours d'elegance for »THE Land Rover of Slovenia« in three categories : best oldtimer (> 20 years), most equiped Offroader and simply the most attractive

-  We will also collect donations for Children's surgery ward of Ljubljana main hospital

 

Other important information:

-   You can also join us directly in Rakek (see the map) where there will be a small camping area (free of charge, but no eletricity hook-up) available from Friday, 16th of May until Sunday 18th of May early morning (next motocross event will begin at 10h!)

-   A high pressure cleaner will be available (free of charge) to wash your muddy Landy immediately after the drive and before setting off way home

Land Rover Club Slovenia has appointed a team of liaison officers to accomodate as best as we can to the wishes of our international guests during our 1st International LR Meeting in Rakek. We realise that many of you will be travelling quite some distance to get to Slovenia. Therefore we have put together a 4-day programme especially for you, so that you can fully enjoy the beauty and hospitality of Slovenia first hand.

Our 4-day programme looks as follows:

Day 1: Friday 16/05/03 

Afternoon 

 - Pick up international guests on designated pick up points by LRCS members and convoy to Camp Ježica

Evening 

 - Slovene dinner with LRCS members 

 

Day 2: Saturday 17/05/03 

- Whole day Rakek programme 

 

Day 3: Sunday 18/05/03 

Afternoon 

- Visit to capital city Ljubljana 

 

Day 4: Monday 19/05/03

Morning + afternoon 

- Visit to Slovene coast + wine tasting

The Land Rover Club Slovenia will take care of organizing comfortable, modest accomodation within easy driving distance of all events and additionally organize meals and trips. We would like to accomodate to all of your budgets and wishes and therefore ask you to contact us before 24 April 2003, so that we can optimally plan. The liaison officers will be at your disposition to answer to all your questions.

Slovenia is a lovely small country with something for everyone; greenlaning, hiking, fishing, rafting, sightseeing or just lazing in the spring sun by the coast. You might even want to extend the 4-day programme and make a real family holiday out of it; our liaison officers can give you some great tips.
